Neurophile expresses the myth that the noosphere is born of our collective thoughts and dreams and relations; much as a single consciousness is born of the collective functioning of the neurons in a human nervous system.
If these whispers engage and delight, then perhaps the myth is real.

SUDDENLY A STORM CAME, A CRASH OF THUNDER AND GREAT LIGHTNING. IN THAT MOMENT OF LIGHTNING THE PHILOSOPHER LOOKED AT THE SKY- THE MYSTIC LOOKED AT THE PATH.
A CHUANG TZU IS LIGHTNING, A BUDDHA IS LIGHTNING. I AM LIGHTNING. DON’T LOOK AT ME. LOOK AT THE PATH. IF YOU LOOK AT ME, YOU HAVE ALREADY MISSED. LIGHTNING ONLY LASTS A MOMENT. THE MOMENT IS RARE WHEN ETERNITY PENETRATES TIME. IT IS JUST LIKE LIGHTNING.
IF YOU LOOK AT A BUDDHA-A BUDDHA IS BEAUTIFUL, THE FACE FACSINATES., THE EYES ARE MAGNETIC. IF YOU LOOK AT THE BUDDHA, YOU HAVE MISSED THE PATH.
LOOK AT THE PATH. FOLLOW THE PATH.

It has first been published in Bhagwan Sree Rajneesh (as he used to be named before): “The Empty Boat“ (ca 1975), page 127-128 (German translation in the booklet on the Rajneesh Tarot, card 25), and again by the same author (now called) Osho, „The Empty Boat“ (without date of publication), page 93.
In fact the story is a little longer, a few more words, particularly: „The philosopher looked at the lightning and started wondering, `What is happening?´ and missed the path.“ – I feel that THAT is your message: the philospher missed the path, is it so?
Osho went into more details in „Hari Om Tat Sat“ chapter 27, 24.ii.1988. I was so lucky the be there and was very deeply touched in these minutes. My life has been influenced since then.
