one looks back

Scanning my old blog, I’m struck by how more conversational it sounds than the stuffy fulminations found herein. And I also see (so to speak) so many wholes where a good bit of content (which landed me a modicum of notoriety) lies deleted null

Some words I wish I could call back; others I am glad to have shouted out.

And now it’s time two look … ward. 😉

Optimism

February 11, 2007

Although our way of life is dying before our eyes, I naively keep one hope alive: that reason and clear thinking will one day vanquish the devil of ignorance. And I believe that day will come to pass.

Though I do not know what the world will look like on that day—I doubt that I will live for centuries—I hope that when we finally conquer ignorance we will start to live our lives with more appreciation for the present. And with more attention to our future.

Last night I saw Carl Hancock Rux. He has an excellent show, the No Black Male Show. I recommend it. The show was intellectual, funny, musical and stimulating all at the same time.

And I’ve been anointed back into the collective; it’s good to be working again. Now I have something to do in between Gears of War and Oblivion.
